600 million chessplayers can't be right

We interrupt this series about Ray's iffy figures for some iffy figures from Ray.

Thanks to Olimpiu

  1. The 11 million online games could be genuine, so that's probably something like a million players a day. If each plays once a month, that's 30 million or so total.

But we know the 600 million is rubbish as established by the Streatham blog, not that it stops people who should know better believing in it.

  2. I doubt that Ray is among that number though, since he certainly knows better.

  3. Another an article purporting to teach people who know nothing of chess how to write about chess! by Dylan LM. A "useful guide" "commissioned by World Chess".
